Arizona Financial has been recognized by Newsweek as one of America’s Best Regional Banks and Credit Unions for 2025.
This Newsweek honor follows Arizona Financial’s recognition as the top-ranked credit union in Arizona by Forbes for 2024 and our superior 5-star rating by Bauer Financial, an independent bank research firm.
"We are incredibly honored to be recognized by Newsweek as one of America's Best Regional Credit Unions,” said Amy Hysell, President & CEO of Arizona Financial. “This achievement reflects our commitment to our members and the communities we serve. Our team’s dedication to providing exceptional financial services and fostering a supportive environment has been instrumental in earning this prestigious accolade."
Newsweek and market-data research firm Plant-A Insights Group recognize top regional banks and credit unions in the United States, by conducting an in-depth review of over 9,000 institutions, more than 70,000 customer surveys and millions of social media reviews.
The study also analyzed the organization’s profitability, financial relevance, risk exposures to financial uncertainties and stability.
“Regional banks and credit unions are the financial backbone of communities nationwide as they support small businesses, fund local projects and ensure easy access to essential banking services. Newsweek and market-data research firm Plant-A Insights are proud to introduce 'America’s Best Regional Banks and Credit Unions 2025,’ highlighting companies utilizing a community- and customer-centric approach to make a big financial impact in their neighborhoods,” said Nancy Cooper, Global Editor in Chief for Newsweek.
Established in 1936, Arizona Financial provides consumer and small business banking accounts and services across Arizona – with competitive rates on loans and deposits, and leading-edge self-service financial tools and mobile apps.
The credit union, rooted in Arizona with over 650 employees, is dedicated to giving back to the communities it serves. With its Local Causes grants program, every time its credit union members use their debit card, the credit union makes a donation to its community fund that provides grants to help support the needs of hyperlocal nonprofits. Since 2020, the program has distributed more than $500,000 in grants.
The credit union operates 19 locations across metro Phoenix and Western Arizona, and offers its members nationwide ATM access, surcharge-free, as part of the CO-OP credit union network. Deposits are federally insured by the NCUA to at least $250,000.
